Ok, that’s a presumptuous post title. However, I think a lot about what makes good content and what keeps people from blogging themselves. One possible complaint: "Not everyone likes what I like. People will be turned off by my posts." Not if you tie your unique interests to broader ideas.

Chris Penn does a great job in this regard. He is a big World of Warcraft gaming geek, and I have no use for the game myself. But several blog posts at http://www.christopherspenn.com/ link WoW themes to broader ones, like a recent post on how the economics of the game give lessons in real-life economy, and vice-versa (http://www.christopherspenn.com/…ng-value/).

The lesson? Write what you know, and tie it to what your readers will identify with.
