Well, I voted. I always vote, so I’m not one of the new enrollees we should all be excited about. Here in my Newton, MA precinct there was more of a line than usual, but no real wait.

I’m anxious to see how the day shakes out across the country. Will the new voters turn out? Will there be polling problems and accusations? Will local ballot questions- like the one, pictured here, about banning dog racing in Massachusetts, affect the makeup of the electorate, and the presidential tally? California, with its gay marriage question, ought to be interesting.

One last thing: as I checked out with my ballot, the poll worker saw my name and said "I know you from the Internet!" It was Janet Sterman (is she @jsterman on Twitter? I’ll have to look it up). Small worls!
