I can’t believe that PodCamp Boston 3 is here– well, almost here as I write this. The event takes place this coming weekend, July 19-20, and there are several things I am looking forward to:
First things first, and that of course is self-promotion. I will be joining a panel of crayon‘s Greg Verdino, Morpheus Media’s Adam Broitman, and ooVoo’s Philip Robertson. The topic? “Smart Social Media Marketing.” I expect it to be very interactive with the audience, so I am looking forward to a lively time. I am also happy that Greg was able to balance the follically challenged with the robust-haired, so Philip in I will be basking in the glow of Greg and Adam’s Bald Marketing Blogger genius (or at least in the reflection of their skulls).
Next: while I will surely attend as many sessions as possible, the hallmark of the past PodCamps I have attended have always been the hallways. That’s where I have met up with friends and colleagues, and more importantly met new ones, initiating, taking part in and overhearing some great discussions.
New to PodCamp Boston 3 is “BrainTorrent,” what I essentially interpret as a room containing a series of ongoing ad hoc breakout sessions. Christopher Penn explains BrainTorrent more in this video.
Back to the sessions: I noticed a lot of new names among the presenters, and I suspect the general crowd will have a lot of new faces as well (including some colleagues from SHIFT Communications) I am looking forward to meeting the next generation of social media rock stars– bring on PodCamp already!
So, I expect to meet people, learn about some new tools, and grab great ideas from sources both expected and unexpected – what are you expecting to get out of PodCamp?
I may have to start a social campaign entitled;
“The All Bald and Powerful Social Triumvirate”
Help us out here, you need to be the third!
