SHIFT Communications Principal Todd Defren was named to PRWeek’s “40 Under 40” list this week. (link, subscription required).
Having moved on from the frivolity (ok, I’ve moved beyond the age requirement) of such lists, I can only live vicariously through Todd’s accomplishment.
The story behind Todd’s qualifications (aside from the age part– we are verifying that independently) is best told here by colleague Parry Headrick at SHIFT’s “Slice” blog. As Parry also hinted, Todd is not particularly comfortable in the public spotlight, despite his frequent contributions to the social networks, and having to play frontman to this scrappy band of SHIFT PR geniuses. On occasion, he has referred to himself as the “Social Media Hermit.”
When a head of an agency is singled out for recognition, it reflects not just on that person, but the entire company he has helped to build. Again, congratulations Todd- and thanks.
As for me, I am training for the AARPRWeek “50 approaching 50” award.
