Age of Conversation 2 is Out!

This past Wednesday saw the release of The Age of Conversation 2: Why Don’t They Get It?Like the first AoC book, it is comprised of short essays from many authors (237 in this case, including yours truly’s modest contribution). The book is now available for purchase at http://stores.lulu.com/ageofconversation, with proceeds going to charity. Getting 237 people to write about social media and raise money for charoty? It’s not (just) an excuse for a bunch of us to pad our egos and our resumes, but to share thoughts and ideas on social media- heck, I hope I learn something reading the other entries. A few important facts about The Age of Conversation 2:

  • The charity benefiting from sales of AoC2 is the children’s charity Variety
  • AoC2 is spearheaded, like the first book, by Drew McClellan and Gavin Heaton; my thanks for letting me contribute
  • The 237 authors are from 16 countries. I’m not sure of the breakdown (feel free to buy the book and report to me)
  • I can’t remember what I wrote about. I have changed jobs since sending in my essay, and left the file behind. Considering my usual rants, it’s probably something to do with how social media is not based on anything actually new, but a refinement of a lot of good ideas. If you goet your copy before I do, let me know if I was right

Congratulations to Drew, Gavin and the rest of the authors!

  1. Doug,

The book is packed with some very interesting thinking, thought provoking questions and I believe readers will find that they gain new insights as a result.

Best of all, great book for a great cause. Hard to argue with that combination!

    Drew
