Invoking some Bill Lee Mojo for the Red Sox
October 24, 2007 – 12:56 pm
The World Series beings tonight, and through the generosity of a friend, I’m going to Game 1!
To invoke the spirits of good fortune to the game, my friend Yankee fan (!?!!) and Montrealer Mark Goren pointed me to this postgame interview of Bill “Spaceman” Lee, one of my favorite all-time Sox players. Sure, he was with the Expos at the time of this interview, but it is vintage Spaceman. Enjoy!

Doug, just want to make one thing clear: I don’t mind passing along some good Spaceman vibes, but I just can’t root for the Sox.It’s just not in my blood. Call it residual dislike for the Big Bad Bruins and my many years as a Yankees fan. Hope this doesn’t affect our friendship. Enjoy the game tonight.(BTW, I would still love to see a game at Fenway!)
